2018 Chart Year - 7/7/18 - Week 33/53 - Notion & Vylet Pony Ascend to Top, Zizkil Makes Top 10 in Re-Entry, Faulty & ThatMusicBrony Back in Zone

In their second big team-up, Notion & Vylet Pony have matched the peak of their last hit, A New Pair of Wings, with Who Walks in Your Dreams, climbing 2-1 in its second frame on the chart. It dethrones the #1 debut of last week, Today is a Day, which falls 1-4. #2-#4 were a very competitive zone: only 65 chart points' difference between them. Taking advantage of this is Love: on its 24th week, 3rd of this run, it hits a new peak of #2 in a 4-2 vault, leapfrogging Destabilize's rerecord, holding at #3. Path Back to Harmony returns once more to the top 10, 12-8. The one new entry to the zone this week is She Only Comes Out at Night by Zizkil, fueled by the release of a joint remix between VooDoo and Dihedral, re-entering the charts for a 6th total week at a new peak of #9, besting its old peak of #32. 2018 Chart Year - 6/30/18 - Week 32/53 - Alumx Debuts at #1, Defeats #2 Debut from Notion & Vylet Pony, Half of Top 10 Cycles Out

This latest chart has a complete bonanza of activity going on in the top 10! For those who checked discourse about the chart on our associate PonyvilleFM's Discord, there was a storm brewing between two songs to get the #1 this week, both of them debuts. In one corner was Who Walks in Your Dreams, starting with an impressive 18,000 streams and 1,900 likes. Opposing it was Today Is a Day, a quirky track crafted by animator alumx, which (across two uploads) had 2,600 likes and 14,000 streams. It turns out that the formula favored the latter, granting alumx his Trot 100 debut with a #1.

Also debuting in the top 5 is Right There, a new collab between 4everfreebrony & The L-Train, starting with 10,000 streams and 1,000 likes. It comes simultaneously with the former's remastered reissue of his concept album The Pink Side of the Moon, with Right There being the one new full track added.

The last two songs coming into the top 10 this week are Lullaby for a Princess, returning for a 32nd frame thanks to a new vocal take by Dr. Wolf at #9, and Sorcery, climbing 15-10 in its second frame and giving Jyc Row's Heroes extended play 5 top 10s (it's the only one of the 5 not to debut in the zone):

  • Strength, #17 (January 27, 2018), #11 (March 3, 2018)
  • Bravery, #6 (February 24, 2018), #4 (March 3, 2018)
  • Healing, #9 (March 24, 2018)
  • Beauty, #5 (April 28, 2018)
  • Hope, #8 (May 26, 2018)
  • Sorcery, #15 (June 23, 2018), #10 (June 30, 2018)

2018 Chart Year - 6/23/18 - Week 31/53 - PrinceWhateverer Holds at #1, John Kenza Goes Top 10 in Re-Entry, Delta Brony Debuts in Zone, and Faulty Returns

As we catch-up, we start with a relatively modest week in terms of #1 competition. Destabilize's rerecord remains the biggest in the scene, with a fairly wide margin keeping it there. However, the top 10 receives a major shakeup: 4 songs swap out of the top 10, and their replacements are varied. Let's start off with the less interesting stuff: John Kenza's Moonbow (13-10) and Faulty's Path Back to Harmony (12-9) re-enter the zone, primarily off inertia as they post modest gains of about 5% in chart points. Then there's The Mean Six Boss Battle Theme from Delta Brony, debuting at #8, one of the few top 10s this year actually referencing the current season of the show directly. Finally, we've got a re-entry of John Kenza's Love at #4, crushing its original run's peak of #12. Check out more past the break!

NOTE: Due to some policy changes, Electro Horse and Interspace were retroactively wiped from the Trot 100. The last month of charts have been edited to reflect this.

2018 Chart Year - 6/16/18 - Week 30/53 - PrinceWhateverer Debuts at #1, John Kenza Surges in With New Single, and Vylet Pony Returns

NOTE: As I will be on vacation for about two weeks' time, charts will not be posted in time for those weeks. The data will still be collected, and once I return, I'll catch them up, but you won't be seeing them on the 15th or 22nd.

Anyway, we've got a new leader, once more a debut. Destabilize, originally a 2013 hit carrying into 2014, has received a new recording with new featured acts, getting people very excited with 18,000 streams and almost 1,000 likes in the first week. It just fends off Celestial Dance, surging thanks to a feature on a non-brony promotion channel. With both songs posting over 3,400 chart points, it becomes a much more competitive field than a week ago, where our #1 posted just over 1,700 points. Speaking of it, Glimmer Time dips 1-4 in its second frame. The last big bit of news is Daybreaker by Vylet Pony's return to the top 10 in its 6th week, up 14-8, after debuting at #5. See more past the break!
