"The Moon Rises", remade with a new verse and new vocals from Kristen Calvin, completely dominates the week. It begins with 31,500 views and 3,050 likes, giving it a whopping 20,000 chart points to start. Kristen thus makes her debut appearance on the chart on the top, and Ponyphonic now has its first topper (previously, the track "Applejack" peaked at #2).
This wasn't a bad week for "Ponyville 2016", the former 2-week leader. In fact, it actually gained in points, now rocking 14,500. With TIX having the backing of Sony Music Entertainment, it's possible this could end up becoming an overall smash success by year's end.
#3 through #6, all staying tracks, are relatively close in margins. "Getting Stronger" (#3) and "Little Sunshine" (#4) are both back up two slots from last week, "Chaos Theory" makes a relatively small dip 2-5 in its second week, and "Here We Are" rebounded up 8-6.
Debuting at No. 8, one spot under its predecessor, is OhPonyBoy's "Mr. Trustable", off the Stellae Key epic. Off this news, "Mox Supra Jupiter" recovers, jumping 71-27.
The track edges out "The Spectacle (Remix)" (#9), beating it out by approximately 100 points of 3,000. Still, as a consolation, it switches spots, also in a 100 point margin, with "Neigh Anything".
As a fun sidenote, apparently the launch of this week's #1 drew attention to an older cover of the song. "The Moon Rises (Metal)" from StringStorm and featuring Raechel Anderson in a popular version, which peaked at No. 31 last year, re-enters at No. 64 in a 20th week. Since that is the week that recurrency takes effect, this essentially completes its run after being dormant since January.
UPDATE: As "Legacy" was accidentally excluded from the 4/30 chart, it has been updated with its 4-7 fall. The stats in the article have also changed to reflect this.
